We hear so much about the rise of single parent households that it can seem as though the term “single parent” is something new. Well, perhaps the term is, but a parent raising children alone is certainly nothing new. You’d probably be surprised to know which great people in American history were raised in single-parent [...]

You can check your own child, for Scoliosis! I often hear a lot of parents saying that their child was diagnosed with scoliosis, but when I ask them if they know what scoliosis is, they often reply…”no.” It always amazes me how often, doctors will tell someone they or their loved ones have some ailment, [...]

It always amazes me how, to many people, the simplest and most natural solutions to common health problems, seem radical. For example, I recently put one of my patients on a 21 day cleansing program, to help her improve her health, lose weight, and feel great! When she told her friends and family what she [...]

Contempt: One Option for Enforcing Support Payments There are many parties to a dissolution who have obtained an order for support but are receiving nothing because the party ordered to pay support has stopped making payments or never made payments in the first place. One option for a party who is not receiving the child, [...]

Experience as a single mother of two has taught me many things, but the most important thing is that God doesn’t give us more than we can bear. I was thrust into single parenthood after divorce and suddenly had the task of raising two children on my own. In the beginning, I was very apprehensive. [...]

As one of the most under reported crimes in the United States, domestic violence has been identified as the single major cause of injury to American women, exceeding rapes, muggings, and even auto accidents combined. (Surgeon General’s Office) The law defines domestic violence as the use of force, directed toward a spouse or former spouse, a cohabitant or former cohabitant, or a person with whom the abuser has had a dating or engagement relationship. Thus, a domestic violence batterer may include any family member, including siblings, grandparents, or a roommate.

Las Vegas has always had the nickname “Sin City,” and most people think that Las Vegas is really not a good choice when choosing places to take their children. I disagree. Las Vegas has changed a lot since my father took my brother and me years ago. Gone are the days of the 99 cents, all-you-can-eat-buffets. They have been replaced with high priced buffets that can make your wallet so light that you feel as though you have been a victim of a professional pickpocket, with the only difference being that you actually handed the pickpocket the wallet and told them that they had permission to rob you. Fortunately, there are ways to get around this.
